About Our ClinicOur ServicesOwner / Veterinarian
Dr. Allison Witherow has been practicing veterinary medicine in Savannah since she graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. If you ask her family, you will learn that Allison wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age and had a menagerie of animals in her childhood home. She has worked in veterinary clinics since being in high school in Rolla, Missouri. After high school she went to college at the University of Alabama and then transferred to Auburn University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Master of Science in Pathobiology, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation from veterinary school she moved to Savannah to be close to her parents, Mike and Peggy Witherow. Allison is thankful for all of the support from family, colleagues and clients that she had been lucky enough to work with along the way as she has advanced in her career.
Dr. Witherow is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, American Veterinary Medical Association, Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, and the Savannah Georgia Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Witherow has been married to her husband, Scott Dinho, since 2009. They share a home with their beloved pets: Marthajane (turtle), Odin (cat), Rudy (dog), Wilson (cat), and various fish. Allison and Scott are excited to open Allison Animal Care so that they can provide the same quality care to their patients and clients that they would expect to get. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve you and realize that it is a privilege to care for your precious pets!
Veterinarian
Maddie grew up in Savannah and completed her undergraduate degree at Clemson University with a Bachelors of Science in Animal and Veterinary Sciences. After a brief break, where Dr. Witherow helped her get valuable experience, she moved to Grenada and completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at St. George’s University. You may have met Maddie when she was externing here but now she is a permanent resident on staff as the newest doctor. When she’s not at the office, she will be hanging out with her interesting mix made up of dogs, cats, and chickens and somewhere on the water. Maddie has returned home and is ready to meet all of the wonderful clients at Allison Animal Care!
For the past few years she’s been rescuing animals like squirrels, mice, dogs and anything else she finds, which has led to her interest in working in the veterinary field. Although she enjoys every aspect of the job her favorite part is meeting so many different dogs and cats. When she’s not working she’s spending time with her dog Vivian, her cat Marty, or riding her horse Princess. After college she plans to open a barn and animal rescue where she will tame and train wild mustangs, teach people about horsemanship and riding, and rescue as many animals as she can.
Outside of the clinic, Gina enjoys beach life on Tybee Island with her husband and cats.
Registered Veterinary Technician
Molly was born and raised in Savannah, GA, leaving to earn a BSFR in Fisheries and Wildlife from the University of Georgia (2016). You may recognize her from the years she worked at Allison Animal Care before she decided to earn an AAS in Veterinary Technology from Athens Technical College (2021). She is excited to return home to Allison Animal Care as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). She has a handsome one-eyed cat named Nym, who will gladly take the credit for getting her through school.Registered Veterinary Technician
Clinic Cat
Hi! My name is Doris.I arrived at Allison Animal Care after a wonderful lady noticed me outside her work place. She learned I was a homeless street cat living close to the railroad tracks, barely surviving on my looks, begging for a scratch, warmth, shelter, and food from a nearby homeless camp. I can’t tell you how difficult it was to maintain my luxurious coat in the outside elements, but I managed!
The nice lady asked Dr. Allison to have me checked out. That was the luckiest day of my life! Dr. Allison and her staff immediately became enamored with me……how could they resist my mustache and charms? They begged me to stay on and enlighten their lives. After a few minutes of deliberation, I decided Why not? They seemed like nice people.
I LOVE my new life and duties here. I give comfort to patients, clients, and staff. I enjoy supervising the staff’s work, assisting in clerical duties—keeping Dr Allison’s office chair warm—and patrolling the inside perimeters of the clinic nightly to keep it safe from predators! In my off time, I enjoy playing with all my new toys, an occasional nap in very high places, and learning to speak French as my second language.
Come see me soon.
